Peter & Megan Warm Summer Maternity Session

This maternity shoot meant so much to this couple. It meant so much to me.

This season of being isolated due to the pandemic has been difficult for everyone. It’s been uniquely difficult for expectant mothers. When Megan and Peter said they wanted to capture a session somewhere in nature, I immediately thought of this dreamy little spot tucked behind a quiet neighborhood in St. Paul. The night was warm, a little buggy, but so magical. I loved being able to document this season of their pregnancy. Megan and Peter are deep humans who love to have fun. They also adore majestic trees almost as much as I do. That’s why this location was perfect. That’s why this warm and moody maternity shoot was everything I knew it would be with them.

This shoot was one of my first shoots of 2020. It’s so hard to write that—given that we shot this in June—nearly halfway through the year. But even though this year hasn’t been anything close to what I thought it would be, I’m finding beauty in the mundane moments. I know these times are leading to something meaningful.
